- The fashion stylist is a creator of clothing and/or accessories. His mission is to imagine, draw and create models for tomorrow’s collections, and he is responsible for developing a complete line of textile products in alignment with the collection’s logic and the label’s image. He conceives products by relying on multi-disciplinary analyses (technological, sociological, aesthetic and economic) and by taking into account the technical constraints of manufacturing.
- He works two or three seasons in advance according to fashion trends, societal movements and cultural events, so he should be a sensitive and curious observer of the world around him. He should also visit professional trade fairs and practice “shopping,” often at an international level.
The fashion designer brings a much appreciated versatility to the core of a company, and his skills can be utilised in different areas:
-the creation of a collection
-accessory design
-photo styling and press
-textile creation (wovens or knits)
-organising fashion events
-the creation of stage costumes (cinema, theatre)
-illustration…
